Moving from Kinsale to Yorkshire
Not far from Kinsale, this substantial house had a view of the distant coastline, and was not far from the well known Old Head of Kinsale, which has the Watch Tower, that dates from napoleonic times.
These towers were bild as a line of defence against french invasions.
And the other reason that this headland attracts so many visitors, is because it is the nearest point to the site to where the Lusitania Sank in 1915, after being struck by a german UBoat, with a loss of around 2000 lives.
There is a Lusitania museum and visitor centre, and a planned memorial garden.
